North Sunshine Eagles

North Sunshine Eagles is an association football (soccer) club from St Albans, a suburb 15 km north-west of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The club was founded in 1970 and is an Albanian backed club. The club currently plays in the Victorian Mens State League Div 3 (North-West), after winning the 2011 Victorian Mens Provisional League Div 1 (North-West). The club hosts its matches at Larissa Reserve in St Albans. Eagles are a sister club to Dandenong Thunder, an Albanian club in the Victorian Premier League.

History

The club was formed in 1970 as North Sunshine and in their first season competed in the Victorian District League West Division, which was the lower tier of Victorian football pyramid. In the 1993 season they played for the first time under the name of North Sunshine Eagles. Only a year after that they changed the name to Sunshine Heights to rename the club again in 1996 as North Sunshine. From 1997 the club competes under the name of North Sunshine Eagles.
