Norsteroid

Norsteroids are a derivative of a steroid that have elements removed from a side chain or ring.^[1]

Examples include:

• Norpregnene (based upon a pregnene)
  • desogestrel
  • ethylestrenol
  • ethynodiol diacetate
  • ethinyl estradiol
  • gestrinone
  • levonorgestrel
  • norethindrone
  • norgestrel
• Norpregnatriene (based upon a pregnatriene)
  • quinestrol
• 19-norprogesterone (based upon a progesterone)
  • nomegestrol acetate^[2]
• 19-nortestosterone (based upon a testosterone)
  • norethisterone acetate^[2]
