The park encompasses 333 acres (1.35 km2) while Nolin Lake, the park's main feature, covers 5,795 acres (23.45 km2). The park is located on the northern perimeter of Mammoth Cave National Park.[1]
The park contains a small beach, a country store, boat ramp, 32 developed campsites, 20 primitive campsites, and a playground.[2]
On May 25, 1983, Nolin Lake set a record high of 549.9 mean sea level. On Thursday, April 28, 2011, the lake was at 544.8 msl and was projected to rise several more feet. As of Thursday, April 28, 2001, Nolin State Park has been temporarily closed due to flooding. The National Weather Service estimated the lake level could climb as high as 549 by Sunday, May 1.
