- Breaks Interstate Park
Breaks Interstate Park, also referred as the "Grand Canyon of the South", is one of two parks in the
United States , located in southeasternKentucky and southwesternVirginia . The park's size is 4,500 acres (18 km²). The Breaks is the deepestgorge east of theMississippi River , through which theRussell Fork andClinchfield Railroad (now theCSX Transportation Kingsport Subdivision ) run. It is accessed viaVirginia State Route 80 , which passes through the community ofBreaks, Virginia east of the park.External links
