"Night Games' is a 1983 single written by Blake Mevis and Norro Wilson and recorded by Charley Pride. Originally recorded by Ray Stevens (whose version reached the top 20 on the Billboard country charts) in 1981, "Night Games" was Charley Pride's twenty-ninth and final number one country hit. The single went to number one for one week and spent a total of thirteen weeks on the country chart [1]. It would be the last country song by an African-American artist to reach #1 on the country charts until Don't Think I Don't Think About It by Darius Rucker achieved the feat in 2008.
