Nazarovsky District (Russian: Наза́ровский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It is located in the western portion of the krai and borders with Achinsky District in the north, Kozulsky District in the east, Balakhtinsky District in the southeast, Uzhursky District in the south, Sharypovsky District in the west, and Bogotolsky District in the northwest. The area of the district is 4,230 square kilometers (1,630 sq mi).^[2] Its administrative center is the town of Nazarovo^[1] (which is not administratively a part of the district). Population: 23,544 (2010 Census preliminary results);^[5] 24,265 (2002 Census);^[10] 21,720 (1989 Census).^[11]

History

The district was founded on April 4, 1924.^[2]

Divisions and government

Administratively, the district is divided into ten selsoviets, which are municipally incorporated as rural settlements. The Head of the District and the Chairman of the District Council is Alexander V. Shadrygin.^[12] As of 2010, the District Council consists of twenty-one deputies.^[12]
