Leadership
NavigationArts was co-founded by Leo Mullen and Ted Smith in 2001, both former executives at the interactive design firm Iconixx. Mr. Mullen serves as the company’s chief executive officer and Mr. Smith serves as the chief operating officer.

Awards and Recognition
NavigationArts has won numerous web awards from a range of agencies, including the Communicator Awards, Summit International Awards, and the Interactive Media Awards[2] (IMA). In 2011 alone, Navigation was awarded the following IMAs: Outstanding Achievement, Nonprofit, for the Institute of International Education; Best in Class, Medical, for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; and Best in Class, Professional Services, for the NavigationArts' website. NavigationArts has also been selected by YayTalent[3] as a company having the best designers in Washington, DC.
In 2010, NavigationArts was the winner of Sitecore's North American Site of the Year for Best Government Website[4] for its work on The Office of Naval Research. NavigationArts was also a finalist in the Washington SmartCEO awards event for companies providing excellence in Government contracting.[5] In 2009, NavigationArts received 9 awards[6] from the Web Marketing Association, including Outstanding Website for D.C. United and Best Newspaper Website for The Charlotte Observer.
