The 2012 National Football League will commence in February 2012. 33 teams (Ireland's 32 GAA counties plus London) will contest it.

Format

The 2012 format of the National Football League is a system of four divisions. The top three consist of 8 teams, and Division 4 contains nine teams. Each team plays each other team in its division once. 2 points are awarded for a win, and 1 for a draw. The top two teams in divisions 2, 3 and 4 are promoted, and contest the finals of their respective divisions. The bottom two teams in divisions 1, 2 and 3 are relegated. The top four teams in Division 1 contest the 2012 NFL semi-finals and final.[1]
