Adelaide 36ers (2009-present)Championships 2009 Nathan Herbert (born 26 October 1984 in Geelong, Victoria) is an Australian professional basketball player currently playing for the Adelaide 36ers in the National Basketball League. He is the son of former NBL player Craig Herbert who played 102 games for the Geelong Supercats between 1982 and 1987.
Herbert, a Victorian junior, started his professional career started when he joined the South Dragons in the NBL as a Development Player in 2008 after spending six seasons playing for the Geelong Supercats in the Australian Basketball Association. While playing for the Supercats he helped them to the SEABL Men’s Southern Conference Championship in 2007 and was the SEABL East Conference under 23 Player of the Year in 2005.
He was voted Souths Dragons Most Improved player in 2008 before moving to the 36ers in 2009. As of 11 February 2011, Herbert has played 92 NBL games averaging 6.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. So far he has yet to play for Adelaide in the 2010–11 NBL season due to injuring his Anterior cruciate ligament in a 36ers pre-season game against the Townsville Crocodiles at the Adelaide Arena.[1]
Nathan Herbert resigned with the 36ers in for the 2011–12 NBL season and made his return to action in the SEABL with the Supercats in June 2011.[2]
