Namak pare is an Indian snack food made from unbleached flour, semolina, water, curd / plain yogurt, ajwain, salt, and butter or ghee. It is deep fried in oil or ghee.[1]. It popular in North India, though also made in South India [2].

There also exists a sweet version of Namakpare, wherein instead of salt, sugar is added to the dough of the plain pare are dipped in light sugar syrup of chashni.
