Nakasongola is a town in Central Uganda. It is the location of the district headquarters for Nakasongola District. The district is named after the town.

Location

Nakasongola is located approximately 130 kilometres (81 mi) north of Kampala, the capital of Uganda and its largest city, on an all-weather tarmac highway between Kampala and Masindi.[1] The coordinates of the town are:01 18 54N, 32 27 54E.

Population

The population of Nakasongola Town was estimated at 6,500 in 2002.[2] In 2006, the population of the town was estimated at about 6,920.[3] In 2011, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), estimated the mid-year population of Nakasongola at 7,800.[4]
