Its collection includes more than 5,000 regional and Canadian works and over 25,000 artifacts that reflect the history of the City of London as an important urban centre in Southwestern Ontario.
The museum itself is housed in a building near the forks of the Thames River designed by Raymond Moriyama, architect of the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto and the National Museum of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.
The art collection includes works by Paul Peel, Eric Atkinson, Jack Chambers, and Greg Curnoe among many others.
The Museum’s primary audience comprises the nearly half a million residents of the City of London and surrounding Middlesex County.
