X is the eighth studio album by American country music artist Trace Adkins. The album's name is the Roman numeral for ten, as counting his two Greatest Hits packages it is his tenth album overall. X was released November 25, 2008 on Capitol Records Nashville. The album includes the singles "Muddy Water", "Marry for Money" and "All I Ask For Anymore", all of which have charted in the Top 40 on Hot Country Songs, with the latter two becoming Top 20 hits.

"Muddy Water"

"Muddy Water" debuted at No. 45 on Billboard Hot Country Songs dated for the week of August 23, 2008.[4] It spent eighteen weeks on the chart, peaking at No. 22 on the week of December 6, 2008 and holding that position for three weeks. The music video was directed by Trey Fanjoy.

"Marry for Money"

"Marry for Money" is the album's second single release. The song debuted at No. 47 on U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart the week of January 17, 2009. It spent seventeen weeks on the chart, reaching a peak of No. 14 on the week of April 11, 2009.

"All I Ask For Anymore"

"All I Ask For Anymore" is the album's third single, released to radio on May 4, 2009. It was written by Casey Beathard and Tim James.

Other songs

After Adkins performed "'Til the Last Shot's Fired" live at the Academy of Country Music awards in April, the song received unsolicited airplay which brought it to No. 50 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart while "Marry for Money" was active. "'Til the Last Shot's Fired" also peaked at No. 5 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 based on downloads.

"I Can't Outrun You" was not released as a single, although it was made into a music video before the release of "Marry for Money."
