Facilities
Library
The Central Library which is present in electrical department devotes considerable efforts and resources to the development of a library collection. It serves as the regional reference library of engineering & technology.
The library collection includes general circulation books, reference books, encyclopedias, handbooks, periodicals, research journals, government and archive documents. The library offers specialized services in the University campus utilizing computerized retrieval of bibliographic databases containing references to thousands of articles, books, proceedings, technical reports and statistics. Others campuses' libraries are also under construction.
Laboratories
All departments have their own set of laboratories primarily employed in teaching undergraduate students.
Some of the departments have been receiving active funding from the government during the past few years, which has helped them upgrade their labs with the latest Engineering equipment available.
Labs for Civil Engineering are also under construction.
Internet Service
LAN internet facility is now available in all computer and CAD labs. There is a Wi-Fi Internet service available only in Offices and is not available for students.
Scholarships
The university provides many scholarship opportunities to its brighter and needy students. Most of these are provided by private foundations, NGOs, and Alumni.
Other Facilities
Some other facilities like, Hostels for students, Masjid, Student Cafeteria and outdoor sports facilities are also available in the campus. Recently a new gymnasium is being constructed in Mechanical Engineering Department. Every year a Sports Week is also held in which different sports take place like football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and many other. Besides this students also organize their own tournaments.
Admissions in MUST
Undergraduate admission in MUST is very competitive. After completion of higher secondary school level (HSSC) education, a student can submit his application for undergraduate admission if he/she fulfills the minimum requirements. Students with a minimum percentage (60%) in HSSC exams with core subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English are allowed to appear in the admission test organized by the MUST and other institutions often called Engineering university & college admission test (EUCAT). The process allows all the students who qualify for the test to sit for the admission test. After the admission test, consecutive merit lists are prepared allowing the students who secured good results in both HSSC and EUCAT to get the opportunity to study in the prestigious institutions. However, for admission to B.sc and MS. programs candidates are required to appear in interviews and/or written tests. There is a good percentage of seats reserved for areas other than Azad Jammu & Kashmir and for Refugees of kashmir. The pre-requisite qualification for admission is H.S.S.C. or GCE A level or its equivalent with good grades in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Future Vision
The university administration has promised many plans and visions in future. It includes following:
- Construction of new departments.
- Construction of hi-tech laboratories for all engineering programs. Especially for Civil and Mechanical engineering departments.
- Construction of new engineering campuses in 5000 kanals land.
- Increase in collaboration with foreign Universities.
- Starting new programs and enrollment of more students.
