Groningen is a small unincorporated community in Pine County, Minnesota, United States. Groningen is located immediately northwest of Sandstone near the intersection of Pine County 35, Pine County 28 (Groningen Road), and the former Northern Pacific Railway (now the Willard Munger State Trail). In 1977, the Minnesota DOT estimated its population as 30 people.
Located in the northeastern corner of Dell Grove Township, Pine County, Minnesota, the community is named after a northeastern province of the Netherlands. The community was originally called Miller Station. When it had a post office, it was called Belknap 1877-1881, and then Groningen, 1896-1913 and 1917-1954.
