Michael "Mike" Cobb (born December 20, 1955 in Youngstown, Ohio) is a former professional American football tight end in the National Football League. He played five seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Chicago Bears. Cobb also played for the Michigan Panthers in the USFL during the 1983 & 1984 seasons where he caught 118 passes for 1319 yards with 10 touchdowns.
He is a cousin of Sherman Smith, a former running back for the Seattle Seahawks who is now the teams running backs' coach.
Early career
Cobb was drafted in the first round by the Cincinnati Bengals. At the end of the 1977 season, he was traded to the Chicago Bears. He played for the Bears from 1978 through 1981.
