The Rt Rev Michael Ashley Mann KCVO was an eminent Anglican clergyman during the last quarter of the 20th century.^[1] He was born on 25 May 1924 ^[2] and educated at Harrow School and Sandhurst,^[3] from 1946 to 1955 he served in the Colonial Service in Nigeria.^[4] Ordained in 1957 he was later Vicar of Sparkwell, a Canon Residentiary at Norwich Cathedral, Bishop of Dudley ^[5] and finally Dean of Windsor.^[6] He retired in 1989.^[7]
