Federal Highway 80 Carretera Federal 80 Major junctions East end: Tampico, Tamaulipas West end: Barra de Navidad, Jalisco Highway system ← Fed. 78 Fed. 81 → Mexican Federal Highway 80 (Carretera Federal 80) connects Tampico, Tamaulipas, to Barra de Navidad, Jalisco.[1] Federal Highway 80 also connects the city of Guadalajara to the south coast in Jalisco. The highway runs through the towns of Acatlán de Juárez, Villa Corona, Cocula, Tecolotlán, Unión de Tula, Autlán, La Huerta, Casimiro Castillo, Melaque and Barra de Navidad.
On Wednesday May 20, 2009 work began to expand the highway to four lanes in the Villa Corona-Cocula section. The expanding of the section is being constructed using a budget of 200 million pesos allocated by the Expenditure Budget of the Federation in December 2008 for t2009.
