Mega Plaza Shopping Center is a user map of the classic MS-DOS game Duke Nukem 3D which took a month to fully develop.[1] Extraterrestrials have occupied a shopping mall in Los Angeles, California.[1] They are working on a plan to invade the entire planet Earth.[1] The player must acquire blueprints from the aliens while the Army puts in C-4 explosives (erroneously spelled as C-9 on the read me file) to blow up the occupied shopping center.[1] This user map was created by Hungarian amateur level designer András Piroska with Tamas Kovacks, Elek Mathe and Balas Csabai being the joint testers.[1][3]
Some of the features inside this realistic shopping center include: a movie theater, an adult book store, a toy store, a gun store, a supermarket, and a pet store. The size of the Mega Plaza Shopping Center and the number of storeys may emulate the real-life Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza in Los Angeles.
