- Duke Nukem 3D user map
-
A typical Duke Nukem 3D user map is a level intended for play with the MS-DOS computer game Duke Nukem 3D that is basically a custom-designed level using the Build programming language.
A sample user map is Mega Plaza Shopping Center, which forces players to destroy aliens inside a fictional shopping mall. Other Duke Nukem 3D user maps involve either an outer space, city, sewer, or military base design (given the limitations of the Duke Nukem 3D sprites). Players can assign the starting point, the goal points, any monsters, and even the destructable female sprites. The actual programming relies on a rather advanced method of programming, unlike WarCraft II and Command & Conquer: Red Alert where user maps could be created with just a point-and-click mentality.
