Background
Aoki was born on October 11, 1979 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.[1] Before MMA, Aoki practiced powerlifting,[1][2] competing in some tournaments in Japan.[3][4][5]
Mixed martial arts career
Aoki debuted in MMA on May 3, 2006 at Smackgirl-F 2006: The Next Cinderella Tournament 2006, losing against Rie Murakami by submission (guillotine choke).[1][6]
Her next match was also a loss, this time at the hands of Mizuho Sato via unanimous decision at Smackgirl-F 2006: Women's Fighting Road vol. 1 on October 21, 2006 .[7][8]
On March 11, 2007 , Aoki got her first professional victory by defeating Hitomi Sakamoto with an armbar submission at Smackgirl-F 2007: The Next Cinderella Tournament 2007 First Stage.[9][10]
At Smackgirl 2007: The Dance of the Taisho Romance on April 28, 2007 , Aoki faced Megumi Yabushita, who defeated Aoki by unanimous decision.[11][12]
Aoki defeated Harumi by unanimous decision on May 19, 2007 at Smackgirl: The Next Cinderella 2007 Second Stage.[13][14]
On December 26, 2007 , Aoki fought against Kanako Takeshita at Smackgirl 7th anniversary: Starting Over, being defeated by Takeshita with a kimura submission.[15][16][17]
Debuting with the word "Super" added to her ring name on April 25, 2008 , Aoki participated in Smackgirl's last event, Smackgirl World ReMix Tournament 2008 Second Round, losing against Miki Morifuji by split decision.[18][19]
Aoki debuted with MMA promotion Jewels in the event Jewels 1st Ring on November 16, 2008 , where she was defeated by Hiroko Yamanaka by unanimous decision.[20][21][22]
Aoki rebounded with a victory by armbar submission over Chihiro Oikawa at Jewels 2nd Ring on February 4, 2009 .[23][24][25][26]
On July 12, 2009 at Cage Force & Valkyrie, Aoki defeated Mizuho Sato by TKO (punches), avenging her 2006 loss against Sato.[7][27][28]
Continuing with her winning streak, Aoki faced Mongolian pro-wrestler Esui at Jewels 9th Ring on July 31, 2010 , defeating her via technical submission (armbar).[29][30]
Aoki was defeated by Rin Nakai via armbar submission during the semi-finals of the tournament to determine Valkyrie's first open weight champion on September 26, 2010 at Valkyrie 07.[31][32]
On November 28, 2010 at Valkyrie 08, Aoki was defeated via unanimous decision by Ayame Miura.[33][34]
Aoki was scheduled to face Shizuka Sugiyama at Jewels 12th Ring on March 11, 2011 in Tokyo, Japan,[35] but the event was cancelled after the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami earlier in the day.[36][37][38]
Kickboxing career
On August 23, 2009 , Aoki was defeated via TKO (referee stoppage) by Hiroko Yamanaka, who had also defeated Aoki in MMA, in a shoot boxing bout at Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup 2009.[39][40][41]
Aoki defeated Knock Kahori by unanimous decision on January 31, 2010 at J-Girls Catch The Stone 5.[42][43]
At J-Girls Catch The Stone 6 on March 28, 2010 , Aoki once again faced Rie Murakami, who had defeated Aoki in her MMA debut. Murakami was victorious once again, this time by unanimous decision.[44][45][46]
On April 18, 2010 at J-Girls Catch The Stone 7, Aoki was defeated by Ayano Oishi via unanimous decision in one extra round after they drew during the regular time.[47][48]
At Jewels 8th Ring on May 23, 2010 , Aoki defeated Yukiko Ozeki by TKO (doctor stoppage) in a shoot boxing rules match.[49][50][51]
Aoki participated in a non-tournament bout at Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup 2010, losing against Azuma by unanimous decision on August 29, 2010 .[52][53]
