He was born in Sudbury where the band is based. As Ox he has performed with artists such as Sarah Harmer, The Be Good Tanyas, Jason Molina, Chad Vangaalen and Julie Doiron among others.
He is also the founder and owner of Sudbury record store and recording studio Cosmic Dave's, where Ox, Nathan Lawr, Brian Dunn and Willett have recorded albums.
