Manduvavaripalem is a small village in Ongole mandal, Prakasam district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is 3 km from Ongole towards Guntur on NH-5.
Manduvavaripalem village is having one Mandal Parishad Primary School [1] with Telugu Medium from 1st to 5th Class which was started way back in 1955.
In earlier days this village was famous for the cattle breed Ongole Bull and every farming family in the village used to rear one or two pairs of this short horned Ongole bulls. Now a days we can hardly find a pair of bulls in the village and it is almost extinct from the village and may disappear completely from this district if protective measures were not taken in time.
The village has sent many qualified people overseas, compared to other neighboring Villages. The village has one of the popular Sri Ramanjaneya Temple constructed a century ago by Late Sri Karumudi Chenchaiah Chowdary a notable figure and rich landlord of the village.
The village is surrounded by fertile farmlands. Irrigation depends largely on rainfall, although the Nagarguna Sagar canals extend to the area to supplement this but ineffective as they are tail-ends. The major crops grown are pulses and tobacco. Due to the recent boom in the real estate and government housing schemes, the farm lands in the 3 km stretch between the village and Ongole have been converted to housing plots. The real estate boom has helped many families of the village to raise their economic status.
