Background and concept

In July 2008, Mallu entered a studio booked in Brazil to start recording the songs for the album. In the recording used analog equipment and even a mixer of the legendary studio Abbey Road to have a sound more similar to artists such as Beatles and Bob Dylan. Mario Caldato Jr, who worked with Beck, Beastie Boys and Marcelo D2, was responsible for production.[1]

For the recording disc, she had the same band that recorded the demos MySpace: Kadu Abecassis (guitar), Jorge Moreira (drums), Thiago Consorti (bass) and Rodrigo de Alencar (piano).

Cover

Despite the cover image of a simple lion that resembles the roof of cookies, refer subtly to Caetano Veloso, who she heard as a child, are the icons of folk and American country that guide much of the compositions.

Music

"Angelina" would fit smoothly on the trail of a Western, "I Do Believe" is evidence of the ability to create melodies in Mallu easy.

Jazz "Noil" recalls the melancholy of Cat Power, while "You Know You've Got", "Town of Rock 'N' Roll" and "Her Day Will Come" have the power of good rocks of old. Among pianos, harps, banjos, guitars and melodica, also point to the onomatopoeia of Mallu, capable of emulating the arrival of a train or an electronic database with the same ease. His voice, in fact, unfolds in various - sometimes childish, but always safe.

In his debut could not miss the successes Times Internet: "Tchubaruba", "J1" and "Get To Denmark" in the repertory. The album also features songs made famous live, like "Do Not Look Back" and "Vanguart".

"O Preço da Flor" and "Vanguart" refer to the band-sister, the ex-boyfriend Hélio Flanders.

In "Tchubaruba" she sings in French or a language created by the very Mallu, giving reference to the song title.
