Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) is a natural gas distribution company located in Mumbai, India. Established in 1995, the company is a joint-venture between GAIL, BG Group and the Government of Maharashtra.[1]

Operations

As of March 2011, MGL distributes natural gas to over 0.5 million households and thousands of commercial and industrial establishments in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It also operates a network of around 150 CNG filling stations for natural gas vehicles.

MGL owns and operates over 300 kilometres (190 mi) of steel pipelines and over 3,000 kilometres (1,900 mi) of MDPE pipelines for gas distribution in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. MGL sources gas from GAIL, Reliance Industries and Hindustan Petroleum.[2]
