The Mae Taeng River (Thai: แม่น้ำแตง, RTGS: Maenam Taeng, Thai pronunciation: [mɛ̂ːnáːm tɛːŋ]) is a tributary of the Chao Phraya River. It originates in North Thailand near the border of Burma and flows through the mountainous region of the Chiang Mai Province. It is a popular river for white water rafting due to the existence of lots of average grade rapids.
