The Hamlet of Durhamville is in the southern part of the county and is about 1.75 miles north of Oneida, New York on Route 46.

History
Durhamville is a small hamlet that was founded before 1813 and named for Eber Durham.
From the mid-1800s until the early 1900s, Durhamville was home to Erie Canal barge construction and repair. In particular, it was home to an Erie Canal lock which was abandoned when the route of the canal was changed. It was also the location of the Fox & Company glass house which, at the time, was one of the largest glass companies in the nation[2].

Durhamville is located at 43°7′14″N 75°40′16″W / 43.12056°N 75.67111°W (43.1206241, -75.6710161)[3].
According to the United States Census Bureau, the hamlet has a total area of 25.69 square miles (66.54 km²), of which 0.02 square miles (0.05 km²) is water.[4]
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 2162 individuals of which 1103 were male and 1059 were female. There was a total of 813 households and 601 families. The population density was 84.2 people per square mile (32.5/km2). The racial makeup of the hamlet was 97.4% White, 0.6% African American, 1% Native American and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.5% of the population.
There were 813 households out of which 33% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59% were married couples living together, 9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.1% were non-families. 19.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the hamlet the population was spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 20 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 13% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38.4 years.
The median income for a household in the town was $40,219, and the median income for a family was $45,327. Males had a median income of $30,368 versus $22,283 for females. The per capita income for the town was $16,403. About 6.1% of families and 7.2% of the population were below the poverty line.
