History

Three members of the band (Robert Milton, Joss Van Wilder and Lawrence Cole [Trev]) met at West Bridgford School. After picking up their original drummer Lawrence Libor at a party and Rob White at a play rehearsal they started performing live in 2008, at venues including the Bodega Social Club. Their debut EP was released in April 2009.[3]

The band has supported acts such as One Night Only, Cajun Dance Party, Ok Go[4], Bombay Bicycle Club, Viva Brother. They have played at festivals including Dot to Dot (2009 & 2010), Glastonbury (2010)[5],OX4 (2010)[6] and Bestival (2011).

Their debut single, "Glockenspiel Song", was released to a host of positive reviews on 7 June 2010. Their songs have been played on UK national radio stations, including BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6.[7] Dog is Dead work at Nottingham's Random Recording Studios.[8]

The band appeared in the closing scene of the fifth series of British television teen drama Skins, playing "Glockenspiel Song" in a marquee, with the cast singing along: "We are a mess. We are failures and we love it". The episode, first broadcast on channel E4 in March 2011, also included "Young" as background music in the wedding scene.[9]

The single Hands Down (B-side Burial Ground) was released on 30th October 2011.
