Tom Baker continues his roles as The Fourth Doctor. Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) departs halfway in the season in The Hand of Fear. The Doctor is then joined by Leela played by Louise Jameson in The Face of Evil.
Guest stars
The Master reappears in The Deadly Assassin the first time since Frontier in Space (1973) this time played by Peter Pratt.
