Rap Brown). The book was first released in the United States in 1969 and then in the United Kingdom in 1970.
The American Muslim said that the central premise of Brown's story could be encapsulated by this quote from the book;
"I lived near Louisiana State University, and I could see this big fine school with modern buildings and it was for whites. Then there was Southern University, which was about to fall in and that was for the niggers. And when I compared the two, the message that the white man was trying to get across was obvious...Die Nigger Die."[2]
After Brown's conviction for murder in March 2002,[3] the book was reprinted by Lawrence Hill Press with a foreword by Ekwueme Michael Thelwell.
