Diborane(4) is a chemical compound with the chemical formula B2H4. While theoretically possible, B2H4 has never been observed.[citation needed]

Computational studies predict two structures. Both structures contain a boron–boron bond; in the ground state, there are two hydrogens bridging the two boron atoms; in the excited state, it has a more traditional structure with only the boron–boron bond. Substituted derivatives of diborane(4) have been observed.
