Diana Morgan (born September 21, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois) is an actress and former television news personality in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Television news

Morgan began her career on television stints in Evansville, Indiana, Nashville, Tennessee and Champaign, Illinois before her arrival at Portsmouth, Virginia's WAVY-TV in January, 1981. During this time, WAVY started a slow but steady climb out of the basement of the then called Tidewater-area television news wars. Morgan, who was first teamed with Bob Grip and later Terry Zahn, became one of the most watchable news anchors in the 1980s, eventually leading WAVY to the number one news spot in the area. Morgan was the highest paid anchor in the area, with her salary reaching the six-figure range, which was unheard of in the 1980s.

Not all went smoothly during her tenure at WAVY. Prior to a September 29, 1988 newscast, Morgan walked out of the station following a dispute pertaining to a decision to edit a report she filed on a local hospital as well as complaints with disagreements involving assignments she was given, with Morgan complaining about being assigned to softer, human-interest stories while co-anchor Terry Zahn was given more serious topics to cover. Ultimately, she would return after a week.^[1]

Morgan left WAVY in December 1989 and for WCIX in Miami, where she started there as weekend anchor/reporter but eventually became weekday evening anchor. She left WCIX in 1994.

Acting

After a four year stay in South Florida and a contract dispute, Diana left the station and South Florida for good. She then began taking theatre and acting lessons to fulfill a life long dream to become an actress. Diana did local theatre for a time in her hometown Chicago. Then she packed up and headed west to Hollywood to pursue her dream full-time.

Diana, mostly cast as a news reporter/anchor in movie and television roles, has appeared on JAG, The Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful. She has also done roles on television programs such as Babylon 5 and The West Wing. In Babylon 5, she played the recurring role of Alison Higgins, the anchor for ISN News. In the movies, Diana did cameos in Eraser, Billboard Dad and Titanic where her voice as a news anchor is prominent in the opening credits.
