Dhudike

Dhudike is a well known village in Moga district in the Indian state of Punjab.

Geography

Dhudike is located at 30°45′N 75°20′E / 30.75°N 75.33°E / 30.75; 75.33^[1]. It has an average elevation of 233 metres (767 feet). Located in India, Punjab and district Moga.

This village is located 4 km south of Ajitwal, which is at NH1 (Moga-Ludhiana Highway)

History

Dhudike is the birth place of the freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. A big building with a library is constructed in the memory of Lala Lajpat Rai. Citizens of Dhudike celebrates the National Days, 26th Jan. & 15th Aug. at this building.

Dhudike is the birth place of many Gadri-babas who contributed in freeing India from the British. (need more information here)

Dhudike is also the birthplace of well known novel-writer Dr. Jaswant Singh Kanwal. He has written many novels and books.
