VASSY Background information Born Darwin, Australia Genres R&B, Acid Jazz, Neo Soul, Dance Occupations Singer, Songwriter Years active 2003–present Labels ABC Music, Ultra Records Website [2] Vasiliki Karagiorgos (born in Darwin, Australia), known mononymously as VASSY, is a Greek-Australian R&B singer-songwriter.[1] Vassy, whose parents are both Greek immigrants,[2] was discovered in 2003 after winning an Australian (Triple J) Unearthed radio contest[3][4] and quickly began to receive recognition in Australia for her vocal talent and style, heavily influenced by Billie Holiday. In late 2005, Vassy released her debut album My Affection.[5] followed by the release of her U.S. single "HISTORY" in 2010, which was on radio stations across the country.

Vassy writes lyrics/produces & sings. She’s published by BMG. She's managed by Andre Recke and represented by Zync Music for Film/TV. She has written TV Campaigns for CHEVY, Hilton Hotels, Diet Sprite & The Ladders. She has written for TV shows Grey's Anatomy (ABC), Human Target (FOX), Love Games (Oxygen),The Hills, Bad Gilrs Club, (MTV) Drop Dead Diva (ShowTime) & Ugly Betty (ABC). Films When in Rome (Disney Movie Trailer), Last Holiday (Paramount Pictures), Powder Blue (Blue Snow Productions) and video games such as FIFA (EA Sports Video Game) & The Sims (Video Game).
She has placed songs with Recording Artists: Jessica Sutta (PussyCat Dolls), Lena Katina (t.A.T.u.), Tata Young (Thai Pop Star), Alessandra Amoroso (Italian Idol), Soraya (X Factor).
Vassy is also recognized for her philanthropy work with various charity groups in Australia. She was the Youth Ambassador for Australia Carers, an organization for young carers, people under the age of 26 who provide care in a family affected by illness, disability, mental health and/or drug or alcohol issues of one or more family members or friends.
Vassy put together various music/hip hop workshops in remote areas of Australia and New Caledonia including Indigenous communities and detention centers.
2010 – present: HISTORY and Up Coming music
Vassy released a single "History" produced by Richard Vission (“I Like That”, Madonna, Lady Gaga) & Chico Bennett through Ultra Records in early 2010 along with a national club tour around the USA. She is no longer under a recording contract.
Vassy has recently written with Tim Myers (One Republic), Billy Mann (Pink), Tracklacers (The Saturdays UK), FirstBorn (Nicki Minaj), Andrea Martin (Leona Lewis) & Sven Martin (Lena Katina).

- Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas is teaming up with Australian singer/songwriter Vassy to highlight various philanthropic organizations and support local Australian communities.
- Vassy signs on as the headlining act for "Skate Almighty" Summer UK tour.

- In early 2011, Vassy wrote a song titled "Pin-Up Girl" for Pussycat Dolls member Jessica Sutta which had its 1st premiere when Jessica performed it live at Ultra Music Festival, on 27 March.[7]
- On 27 March 2011 Vassy's YouTube video for an acoustic cover of Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' was the #1 most trended videos on Twitter and Facebook.[citation needed]
- In the Summer of 2011 Vassy wrote "Let's Play" for Thai Pop Star Tata Young and is set to be her upcoming single and was performed live in early September at the True Academy Fantasia (Season Finale)[8]
- In September 2011, Vassy's song Ft. Tim Myers "We Are Young" was featured for the new Chevrolet Campaign/ Chevrolet Orlando "Word Of" TV Spot.
- On 27 October 2011 Vassy joined together a band that consisted of Herself, Ruby BC (Keyboard) & AngieTheSwan (Guitar) to become The 3Sums. AngieTheSwan later wasn't able to do the show so Chris Vazquez took her place as the nights guitarist.
- On 1 November 2011 Vassy released a new song titled "Could This Be Love" with a music video via Youtube.[9]
