Den Nye By is the debut album by faroese alternative rock band The Dreams, released on February 8, 2008. Published by Apache Records and recorded in the Chief Management Studio. Produced by Chief 1 (Lars Pedersen). The album comprises 11 songs all written in Danish.

Three successful singles were released from this album: "La' mig være", "Himlen Falder/Helvede Kalder" and "Backstabber".

Release and reception

The band then participate in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2008, already had the best chance of success. For something finished in 4th place.

They released their album at the same time their first music video "La' mig være", which directly moved into the lead in DR1 Boogie Listen.

Then came in May their second single "Himlen Falder/Helvede Karlder" which also ranked 1st in DR1 Boogie Listen and Denmark most popular music videos chart, later they were in top 3 every 10 weeks.

Finally coming in October their latest single "Backstabber" was straight in the first week in 1st place in DR1 Boogie Listen and was listed in all 10 weeks as the only Danish band. The best thing for islanders rookies in the music life.

Boogie Listen made the band is best known, and now has fans in all Denmark. The Dreams left everything on stage, than in the list of Boogie 2008 was 1st place with "Backstabber" and at 2nd place with "Himlen Falder / Helvede Kalder".

Den Nye By 09/Sakin Live

Den Nye By 09/Sakin Live is a live album by faroese Alternative Rock band The Dreams, released on March 2, 2009. Published by their new record label Black Pelican and produced by Chief 1 (Lars Pedersen).

This album contains the same songs from their debut album Den Nye By, only have 3 new songs: Snob, Lorteliv and 25 (Den Nye By prt.2). Besides 5 live songs and the history of the band in an interview with theirs producer.

Two singles were released from this album: "25 (Den Nye By prt.2)" and "Ingen kan erstatte dig", this music video is a concert that they did in the Faroe Islands.

Release and reception

Following the huge success of their first album, The Dreams announced his live album through their MySpace scheduled for early March 2009.

Before they releasing the album, the band released their first single "25 (Den Nye By prt.2)" continuation of the song "22 (Den Nye By)". This music video couldn't be located first in the lists, nevertheless it is a series of images of members in the Faroe Islands, showing the cities where they lived.

In Frebruary 2009 came their second single "Ingen kan erstatte dig", was successful in the DR1 Boogie Listen, but failed to settle in the first place, managed to reach the 4th.

Finally on March 2 came out the album, followed their grand tour of all of Denmark and Faroe Islands. Getting more fans in France and Germany.
