According to the 2006-2008 American Community Survey, the racial composition of Visalia was as follows:

Approximately 86.3% of Visalia's' residents were born in the United States, and 0.6% were born in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, or abroad to American parents. In addition, 13.1% of the population were foreign-born.[3]
