David Nelson Oregon State Senate Incumbent Assumed office
January 1997Personal details Political party Republican1 David Nelson (born 1941) is a Republican politician from the U.S. state of Oregon, serving his third term in the Oregon State Senate. He lives in Pendleton, and represents District 29.[1]
He was first elected to the Senate in 1996, and reelected in 2000, 2004, and 2008.[1]
He attended the University of California at Berkley, but then transferred to the University of Oregon, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science in 1964. He then managed, and later purchased, a wheat farm in Brady, Montana. He earned a law degree from the University of Montana Law School in 1967.
