David Nelson (born 1941) is a Republican politician from the U.S. state of Oregon, serving his third term in the Oregon State Senate. He lives in Pendleton, and represents District 29.http://www.leg.state.or.us/nelson_david/bio.htm]

He was first elected to the Senate in 1996, and reelected in 2000 and 2004.

He attended the University of California at Berkley, but then transferred to the University of Oregon, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science in 1964. He then managed, and later purchased, a wheat farm in Brady, Montana. He earned a law degree from the University of Montana Law School in 1967.
