The series pilot first aired as a two-hour episode of another show, Police Story, which featured Cassidy playing an undercover police officer. That episode earned him an Emmy Award nomination and was then adapted Man Under Cover which aired on NBC from November 2, 1978 to July 12, 1979.
Synopsis
Set in Los Angeles, the series stars Cassidy as undercover police officer Dan Shay. Simon Oakland stars as the head of Shay's undercover team.
The show was not successful and was cancelled after one 10-episode season.
