The show has been produced by UTV Software Communications and has become India's largest dance-based reality show. The show is choreographed by some of the most popular Indian choreographers, such as Marzi Pestonji, Rajeev Surti and Geeta Kapoor. Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty is the grandmaster of the show. The show's title track was composed by Adil and Prashant. In India the show airs every Friday and Saturday.[1] Outside India it airs every Saturday and Sunday.

Concept

The show gathers talented couples from all over India. Once the contestants are trained by professional Bollywood choreographers, the participants compete against each other. For the first few weeks of the competition, contestants are nominated to be eliminated by the three masters and are put in the bottom or "Dance Ki Kausauti". One couple is then eliminated by Grandmaster Mithun Chakraborty. Starting February 26, 2011 the general public will be able to vote for their favorite contestants. Voting starts on every Friday 9.30 pm and ends on Monday 8.00 am IST. The two pairs of Cornell & Sonali and Vikram & Niharika were created by the Grandmaster Mithun Chakraborty. The Grand Finale will not be live so, it will be filmed on April 7, 2011 at the Andheri Sports Complex and will be aired on April 9, 2011.[2] Amit and Falon of Marzi Ke Mastaney won the "Sunehri Takdeer Ki Topi". Cornell and Sonali of Geeta Ki Gang became the first runners-up , Sourabh and Vivek of Marzi Ke Mastaney became the second runners-up and Vikram and Niharika from Rajeev Ke Rockers became the third runners-up. Following the end of Dance India Dance Doubles, Zee TV will air a new dancing show titled, Dance Ke Superstars.[3]
