Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein is an Indian television series that airs on Zee TV. The show premiered on 20 June 2011. It aired from Monday to Thursday but airs Monday to Friday as of October 3 at 10.00 PM in India.But due to heavy competition from Colors mega hit show Uttaran,this show never garnered good ratings.

About the show

Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyien is a light hearted family drama of an elaborate joint middle class family and its strict and disciplinarian mother.

As the formidable matriarch of a joint Rajasthani family, she has rather ably held the reins of her household, made the most significant decisions in the lives of her husband, her five sons and four daughters-in-law.

The story begins with Mrs. Bindeshwari Kaushik's search for the fifth bahu for her youngest son. According to her, an ideal bahu is one who should be an amalgamation of the elements of nature (fire, water, air, space & earth) akin to the virtues represented by her other four loving, honest and obedient daughters-in-law.

Enter Lovely - a free-spirited, fun-loving, beautiful young girl who believes in making her own rules rather than following anybody else's. Lovely thinks it's perfectly acceptable to lie in order to help someone! Quick in her thinking, she can spin a yarn at the snap of a finger but her lies are harmless and never intended to hurt anybody's sentiments.

What ensues is a light-hearted family drama that follows Lovely's journey into Bindeshwari's heart despite their distinctly different approaches towards life.

1	20.06.2011	The Kaushik family from Jaipur is introduced.The Kaushik family comprises Satyadev and his wife Bindeshwari, and their five sons and their families. Utkarsh is the eldest son of the family, followed by Bittu, Shivendu, Aditya and Kartik. Bindeshwari had found suitable wives for her first four sons in Gehna, Nimmi, Simran and Ria. She searches a wife for Kartik, who would not only be the perfect match for him but also complement the other daughters-in-law.Bindeshwari is a strict disciplinarian and her writ runs in the house. Even Satyadev doesn't have the courage to stand up to her.Bindeshwari leaves to meet the pundit after learning that he had found a girl for Kartik. As soon as she steps out of the house, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Kartik learns about Bindeshwari having selected a girl for him when he comes home. When she returns home after meeting the pundit, Bindeshwari informs Kartik that they had to visit the girl's house to meet the family. Kartik accompanies Bindeshwari and Satyadev when they go to meet the girl suggested by the pundit. The meeting ends in a fiasco when a girl barges into the house and slaps Kartik. Who is the girl? Is Kartik hiding something from the family?
2	21.06.2011	The Kaushik family is shocked when the girl announces that Kartik had betrayed her love.Kartik pleads innocence before Bindeshwari. To assert the veracity of the girl's claims, Bindeshwari decides to test if the girl actually knew Kartik. She questions the girl about Kartik and is shocked and surprised when the girl answers all questions correctly. Bindeshwari is shocked further when the girl produces a picture of her and Kartik. Kartik tries to prove his innocence but Bindeshwari refuses to believe him. On reaching home, Bindeshwari is furious and later refuses to join the family for dinner. Kartik tries to convince Bindeshwari and even apologizes to her. Bindeshwari agrees to believe him provided he submits proof of his innocence. Gehna feels bad for Tanya and her family for having to bear such an embarrassment. It is later revealed that the whole incident was planned by Tanya. Tanya is in love with Abhay and hence, asked her friend Lovely to lie to Bindeshwari about being in love with Kartik. While Lovely, Tanya and Abhay rejoice at the success of her plan, Kartik is depressed.Will Kartik prove his innocence?
3	22.06.2011	Lovely asks Tanya and Abhay to get married secretly as it would force their parents to accept their relationship. Meanwhile, Kartik feels guilty for causing hurt to his mother and his family. Gehna, Nimmi and Simran believe Kartik is innocent. Kartik overhears Bindeshwari telling Satyadev her regret at not being able to apologize to Tanya's family regarding the humiliation they had to suffer. Kartik decides to apologize to Tanya's family on Bindeshwari's behalf. Tanya's parents allow Kartik to personally apologize to Tanya for his mistake. Kartik doesn't realize that he is apologizing to Lovely, who is sleeping in Tanya's bed. Tanya on the other hand is hiding in her closet. While going home, Kartik notices Tanya sneaking out of the house dressed in bridal attire. He spots Lovely along with Tanya. He also hears Lovely telling on the phone about preparations for the wedding at a temple.Without wasting a second, Kartik rushes to Bindeshwari and drags her to the temple. Meanwhile, Tanya and Abhay get married. Tanya is happy as her plan has succeeded. Will Bindeshwari learn the truth?
4	23.06.2011	Lovely, Tanya and Abha are shocked to see Bindeshwari and Kartik at the temple. Lovely confesses to Bindeshwari that since Tanya's parents were opposed to her relationship with Abhay, she was secretly marrying him. Bindeshwari calls Tanya's parents and ask them to reach the temple. Tanya's mother is furious and slaps her on learning that she had married Abhay.Lovely confesses that she was Tanya's friends and had lied about her and Kartik's relationship. Bindeshwari rages at Tanya's parents and states Kartik would never lie to her. Kartik and Bindeshwari plan to confront Lovely but are shocked to discover Lovely had left. After reaching home, Kartik narrates the whole scenario to his family. When the family opposes Tanya and Abhay's marriage, Lovely convinces Tanya's mother to forgive them and accept the marriage. Tanya's parents relent and accept Tanya's marriage with Abhay. On reaching home, Lovely witnesses her parents, Mala and Subodh arguing. Bindeshwari decides to apologize to Kartik for suspecting him. Kartik stops her and assures Bindeshwari that he would never break her trust.
5	27.06.2011	Lovely offers sweets to Subodh to celebrate Tanya and Abhay's marriage.Subodh warns Lovely never to cause slight to the family's respect and prestige. Gehna, Simran, Ria and Nimmi are shocked to find Kartik in distress. Kartik reveals to them that he was unable to forgive the girl for causing humiliation for the family and for slapping him. He decides to teach her a lesson.Tanya and Abhay are shocked when they meet Kartik on the road. The couple is surprised when Kartik congratulates them on their marriage. At Kartik's request, the duo reveals Lovely's address to him. Lovely is shocked when she finds Kartik watching her drama rehearsal. Will Kartik forgive Lovely?
6	28.06.2011	Lovely was alarmed to see Kartik at her drama rehearsal in the previous episode. She decides to escape and rushes to her room .Meanwhile, Kartik searches for Lovely. Lovely decides to leave the building when her friend informs her about someone searching for her. Lovely's attempt to flee is cut short by Kartik. Kartik declares he was engaged to marry Lovely. When a shocked Lovely asks for proof to substantiate his claim, Kartik produces the picture of him and Lovely. Lovely's friends start believing Kartik and scold Lovely for not informing them about her engagement. Kartik goes to lunch with Lovely and her friends. When Lovely's friends quiz how he had met her, Kartik spins a romantic tale to impress them. As he had expected, Lovely's friends are captivated by the romantic tale. Will Lovely accept defeat?
7	29.06.2011	Lovely is asked by the drama director to find sponsors for their show. The director warns Lovely that failure to find sponsors could affect her career in theater.While having dinner with the family, Kartik can't help stop smiling at his success in tormenting Lovely. Bindeshwari spots Kartik smiling and asks for the reason. Kartik lies he was thinking about office. Bindeshwari tells Kartik that she has short-listed some girls for him. Kartik agrees to go through their photographs. Nimmi is curious to learn if Kartik was successful in teaching Lovely a lesson. She drags him to the terrace after dinner. Kartik reveals with glee that Lovely might be regretting coming into his life. As anticipated by Kartik, Lovely expresses her dismay to Abhay and Tanya. Lovely declares she will have to lie about her relationship before her friends. When Lovely returns to the theater the next day, she is surprised to find Kartik with her friends. Will Kartik continue to trouble Lovely?
8	30.06.2011	Kartik deliberately flirts with Lovely in front of her friends to irritate her. Lovely's friends are impressed with Kartik's plans to find sponsors for their drama. Kartik explains the plan to Lovely too who reluctantly agrees it was good. Municipal officer Rajpal Singh Chauhan visits the Kaushiks' shop and asks for a bribe to extend the shop's licence. Simran agrees to pay the bribe and later arrests him for the offence.Unable to bear with harassment by Kartik, Lovely barges into Kartik's cabin and warns him to stop pestering her. He points out that they were suffering the consequences of Lovely's lie. Lovely warns Kartik to stop. Will Kartik falling in love with Lovely?
9	04.07.2011	Lovely challenges Karthik that she will force him to reveal the truth. Kartik accepts her challenge. Bindeshwari reminds Simran that she has to submit the monthly budget to her at the end of the week. She adds that she will not tolerate any delays and lapses in her assigned task. Simran assures her that she will not give her a chance to complain. Kartik's friend, Rohan learns from his office colleagues that Kartik was having a heated argument with a girl in his cabin. Rohan barges in to find out what is happening. In order to teach Kartik a lesson, Lovely deliberately address as herself as Kartik's fiancé in front of Rohan. Lovely gets irritated when to her surprise Kartik plays along and says that he is engaged to her. He adds that that they were arguing because of a minor misunderstanding. Kartik even tells Lovely that he will meet her after office hours before she leaves. Ria tells Aditya that she is upset with the family members since she is always the last person in the house to know about what was going on. During dinner, when Utkarsh praises Simran for teaching a lesson to the Municipal officer, Rajpal Singh Chauhan, Bindeshwari states that if Simran had performed her task on time, the Municipal officer would never have come home at all. Kartik is in for a shock when Gehna informs Bindeshwari that she has a prospective bride in mind for him. Ria gets upset again thinking that she was kept about the proposal in dark. Bindeshwari states that this time they would carefully select a girl for Kartik.
10	05.06.2011	Subodh believes that working in theater is a waste of time and so he refuses to help Lovely in finding sponsors for her show. When Mala asserts that Subodh must show some responsibility towards Lovely, Subodh asks her to do the needful. Mala says that she has no time since she is busy working as a social worker. Anu complains that Lucky was forcibly taking his toy truck from him. When Lucky lies to Nimmi stating that the toy was given to him by Satyadev, his sister tells Nimmi that Simran had gifted the toy to Anu. When Nimmi rages at Lucky for hiding the truth, Gehna asks not to be harsh while correcting a child. Simran states that if kids are not corrected on time, they would become habitual liars in the future. Karthik overhears their conversation. Lovely's friends convince Mr Shukla, the director of the theatre group, to allow Lovely to rehearse her dialogues with Kartik until the hero of the drama arrives for the rehearsal. Much to Lovely's irritation, Kartik stands in front of her and she starts narrating the dialogues of Anarkali. Her dialogues include apologizing to her lover for hurting him and then expressing her love for him. Kartik gets besotted with Lovely as she goes on with her narration. Unable to take his eyes off her, he keeps staring lovingly at her even after the scene. Lovely gets a call from Tanya telling her that she and Abhay were waiting for her. Lovely lies that she got caught up in rehearsals as the hero of their drama had fractured his leg. Kartik eavesdrop on her conversation and wonders why Lovely had to lie for such a petty reason. Lovely asks for permission to leave early and prepares to leave. Kartik goes behind her to drop her to the gate. Kartik walks up to Lovely as she waits for her car to arrive and asks her why she lied so often. He asks her what grief she was harboring that compelled her to lie for even petty matters so often. Kartik's words bring to Lovely's mind the constant tension and fights between her parents Mala and Subodh. However, Lovely retorts that she was happy and not worried of or grieving for anything.
