It is composed of five villages: Batin, Daroţț, Sicfa, Unguraș and Valea Ungurașului.
According to the 2002 census, the commune has 3,093 inhabitants, out of which 1,850 (59.8%) are Hungarian, 1,131 (36.6%) are Romanian, and 109 (3.5%) are Roma.[1]
