(2011)Covers 80's is the seventh studio album recorded by American singer-songwriter Duncan Sheik, released in the United States on June 7, 2011. The album is Sheik's second independent effort since his major label debut — following his fifth album White Limousine. All of the songs on this album first became popular in synthesizer-infused arrangements three decades earlier, as performed by leading British artists of the era including Depeche Mode, Thompson Twins, New Order and Tears for Fears. Sheik's versions, by contrast, are more quietly and sparsely configured.
Holly Brook, who appeared on Sheik's album Whisper House, and Rachael Yamagata, who has toured with Sheik for various concerts, contribute backing vocals throughout this album.
