The service was founded in 1981 and features twelve routes in four different categories. Four intercity routes (1, 2, 6, and 7) connect the major population centers of the region. Three Wildcat Transit lines (3-5) serve University of New Hampshire students. Three FasTrans routes (33-35) provide Dover city service, while two Portsmouth Trolley routes (40-41) serve this city in a similar capacity.
