Cook Park is a historical park located in Orange, New South Wales, Australia. It was established in 1873 and covers an area of 4 hectares. The park's main entrance is from the corner of Summer Street and Clinton Street.[1]

History

The area of open space was reserved in 1845 and later, in 1873 the park was officially opened to the public. The park is named in honour of Captain James Cook, the first European explorer to map Australia.[2]

Facilities and Attractions

Cook Park has several attractions including the Blowes Conservatory, an aviary featuring native birds, various duck ponds and a fernery.[2]

The park also features the Park Guildry, an arts and crafts lodge located in the park which was converted from a cottage in 1973.[3]
