Phoenix CoyotesPlaying career 2009–present Connor Murphy (born March 26, 1993) is an American ice hockey defenseman who is who is currently playing for the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League.[1] Prior to signing with the Sting, Murphy committed to Miami University[2] Murphy previously played for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program of the United States Hockey League (USHL). He was selected 20th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes.[3] He was raised in Dublin, Ohio.[4] His dad is former NHL defenseman Gord Murphy.[3]

Medal record Ice hockey Competitor for United States IIHF World U18 Championship Gold 2011 WJC U18 Murphy represented the United States internationally playing for Team USA in the 2011 IIHF World U18 Championships with Team USA. He scored 3 goals and had 1 assists in 6 games during the tournament,[5] including the overtime goal in the gold medal game against Sweden.[6]
