The Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality is a qualification-awarding body for the hospitality industry in the UK.

Contents

History

It used to be called the Confederation of Tourism, Hotel and Catering Management (CTHCM), being based on Great Titchfield Street in London, close to the University of London. The name was changed on 18 June 2008.

Function

It provides recognised standards for training in the hospitality, tourism and travel industries in the UK. Over 7000 people a year take their qualifications.

Its awards are regulated by Ofqual, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS), and the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment (CCEA).

Structure

It is situated in Marylebone, between Wigmore Street and Oxford Street, close to James Street and Selfridge's near Bond Street tube station.
