British Institute of Innkeeping Awarding Body

The British Institute of Innkeeping Awarding Body (BIIAB) is the wholly owned awarding body of the British Institute of Innkeeping, a professional association for the licensed retail sector. They offer training courses and qualifications for jobs in licensed retail sectors.

The BIIAB offers a wide portfolio of sector-specific qualifications. Some of these certifications are now mandatory requirements under Britain's Security Industry Act; namely the BIIAB level-2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors, which fulfills the licensing requirement of the act for the licensing and training of doormen. [http://www.the-sia.org.uk/home] The BIIAB also gives training courses in other matters related to the hospitality industry, such as responsible alcohol sales and retail licensing requirements.
