The following are amusement park rides and attractions that have been closed. In some cases they may have been removed and replaced by another ride, while in other cases they may be standing but not operating.

Cedar Fair

California's Great America

• Stealth- Closed in 2003 and was relocated to Carowinds as the Borg: Assimilator, now known as Nighthawk, in 2004.
• Invertigo- Closed on October 31, 2010.
• Greased Lightnin' (formerly Tidal Wave)- Closed after the 2002 season.
• Gulf Coaster- Closed in 1980.
• Whizzer (formerly Willard's Whizzer)- Closed after the 1988 season.
• Triple Play- Closed in 2004.

Canada's Wonderland

Carowinds

• Black Widow (formerly Witchdoctor) was removed in 1989.
• Carolina Sternwheeler was removed in 2003. BORG: Assimilator (now Nighthawk) currently operates on this spot.
• Carowinds Monorail was removed in 1994.
• Old Jalopies was removed in 1987.
• Whirling Dervish was removed in 2001.
• White Lightnin' was removed in 1988 and sold to Gold Reef City in Johannesburg, South Africa.
• Frenzoid was removed in 2005
• Surfer was removed in 1976.
• Waltzer was removed in 1976.
• Flying Super Saturator was removed in 2008 due to low capacity and high maintenance costs. Replaced by Carolina Cobra in 2009.
• Wild Bull was removed in 1998 and replaced by Top Gun- The Jet Coaster (now Afterburn).
• Carolina Speedway was removed in 1991 to make room for the Vortex stand-up coaster.
• Oaken Bucket was removed after the 1987 season. The ride was located across from the Log Flume.
• Smurf Island's elements were removed with Carolina Sternwheeler. (See above.)

Cedar Point

• White Water Landing

Geauga Lake

• The dry side of the Geauga Lake amusement park closed after its last operating day of the 2007 season, September 16, 2007. Cedar Fair relocated or auctioned off most of the park's roller coasters and flat rides. As of 2009, Geauga Lake's water park is still open as Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom.

Kings Dominion

• King Cobra
• Hypersonic XLC(known for 90 degree vertical launch;2001–2007) was closed due to expenses at the end of the 2007 season and is waiting to be sold in a field adjacent to the Grizzly.Plans are to replace with Americana(a 144-seater Ferris Wheel) and El Dorado(40-seater "El Dorado" car model that acts as a swinging pendulum).
• Apple Turnover was removed for the original Hurricane Reef expansion in 1992.
• Diamond Falls was closed due to roughness in 2002. It was demolished in 2005, and the Italian Job Stunt Coaster (later renamed to the Backlot Stunt Coaster) opened in its place in 2006.
• Freefallin' and a kids area in Waterworks were removed at the start of the 2004 season to make room for the Italian Job Stunt Coaster.
• Galaxie was closed after the 1984 season; In 1983 a rider was decapitated. It later moved to Myrtle Beach Pavilion where it operated until 1997.
• King Kobra was removed after the 1986 season and relocated to Jolly Roger Amusement Park in Ocean City, Maryland, then to Alton Towers. As of 1999, it operates at Hopi Hari as Katapul.
• Lake Charles, which hosted shows in the early days of Kings Dominion, was partially filled in during the early 1990s to make room for Kings Dominion's water park. As of the 2005 season, part of the lake still remained.
• Lion Country Safari was closed after the 1992 season; the area the monorail station was located in was rethemed to Congo and (as of 2005^[update]) is now an empty field.
• Time Shaft, Haunted River (formerly Journey to Atlantis), Smurf Mountain (formerly Land Of Dooz) were closed and removed in the 1990s to make room for Volcano: The Blast Coaster.
• Mount Kilimanjaro was removed in the early 1990s and replaced by Volcano and Flight of Fear in the later 1990s. [1]
• Old Dominion Line
• Sky Pilot was removed in the mid or late 1990s due to maintenance issues and a fatality^{[citation needed]}.

Adventure Island

• Tampa Typhoon: A water slide that closed after the 2005 season. The slide opened in the late 1980s and shared a tower with Gulf Scream, a current water slide attraction. Standing nearly 70 feet (21 m), or seven stories tall, the ride allowed patrons to see for miles around, including a view of the nearby MOSI museum.
• Barratuba

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

• The Monorail: closed and removed in 1999.
• The original brewery was demolished and Gwazi was built in its place.
• The Python: closed October 31, 2006 and demolished as part of a renovation of the Congo area of the park. Jungala took its place.

SeaWorld San Diego

• Gateway to the Sea: was an indoor water fountain show. It was replaced by Window to the Sea.
• Window to the Sea: was a live education presentation about SeaWorld's environmental and research activities. It was replaced by Pirates 4-D
• Pirates 4-D: Was a 3-D film attraction. It was replaced by R.L. Stine's Haunted Lighthouse 4-D.
• R.L. Stine's Haunted Lighthouse 4-D: Was a 3-D film attraction based on the book from the Goosebumps series. It was replaced by Lights, Camera, Imagination 4-D!
• Mission: Bermuda Triangle: Was an "underwater" motion simulator attraction, which opened in 1994. It was later replaced by Wild Arctic.
• Shamu's Happy Harbor: Was an interactive children's play area which opened in 1995. In 2007 it was renovated and became Sesame Street Bay of Play.

Water Country USA

• Atomic Breakers: A series of slides and splash pools. Closed and removed 2007.
• Lemon Drop: 2 short Yellow body flumes which dropped into a deep (10 ft) section of the Adventure Isle pool. Closed and removed in 2008.
• Peppermint Twist: Two steep purple-colored body slides take riders through a 180 degree curve. This ride closed following the 2007 season. The tower, however, remains intact and is used as the tower for the new Jammin' Jukebox body slides.
• Volleyball Courts: Several beach volleyball courts that took up the space where Hubba Hubba Highway is now, and before that were located across from Jet Scream where the lockers are. (Catering was where the restrooms are.)
• Little Twister: A small pink children's water slide in the Adveture Isle area. Moved adjacent to the Jammin' Juke Box slide tower in the 2008 season with the change to Rock 'n' Roll Island. Renamed "Little Bopper."

Star Trek: The Experience

• Star Trek: The Experience, which was open from 1998 to 2008 at the Las Vegas Hilton, is relocating to Neonopolis for the 2010 season.

Six Flags

Six Flags AstroWorld

• Six Flags Astroworld was a 90-acre (360,000 m²) theme park in Houston, Texas, USA. Originally opened as just "AstroWorld" in 1968, the park was a sister attraction to the AstroDome, home of the namesake Houston Astros. Purchased by Six Flags in the mid 1970s, it operated until 2005 when the park was closed and demolished, citing Six Flags' financial woes.

• Hay Baler and Sky Whirl Removed for Deja Vu
• Power Dive. Looping Starship replaced with King Chaos, a Chance Inverter ride.
• Rolling Thunder. Bobsled ride relocated to another park. Former location is now entrance area for Southwest Territory/Hurricane Harbor.
• Shockwave. Former Arrow multi-inversion "parking lot coaster" replaced by Superman and real landscaping.
• Southern Cross. Round-trip sky ride removed as part of construction for White Water Rapids/Roaring Rapids.
• Tidal Wave. Intamin shuttle loop coaster removed for Batman The Ride. Tidal Wave relocated to Six Flags Over Georgia as Viper and then Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom as Greezed Lightnin'.
• Turn Of The Century. Arrow custom double corkscrew modified by replacing two airtime hills with two loops and adding heavy theming elements for Demon.
• Traffique Jam. Car ride removed for construction of White Water Rapids/Roaring Rapids prior to 1984 season.
• Yukon Yahoo. Bayern Curve ride removed.
• Z Force. Intamin's only Space Diver roller coaster relocated first to Six Flags Over Georgia as "Z-Force", then to SFMM as "Flashback". Replaced at Six Flags Great America by Iron Wolf, B&M's first stand-up roller coaster.
