Tornado F3 OEUAir Commodore Clive Arthur Bairsto CBE is a Royal Air Force officer and former Air Officer Scotland and Station Commander RAF Leuchars. He was replaced by Air Commodore R J Atkinson on 13 March 2009 and took the post of Head of International Policy and Planning (Military) at the Ministry of Defence on 23 March 2009.[1]
Over his career, he has held numerous commands including:
- 1998 - 2001 Tornado F3 Operational Evaluation Unit, RAF Coningsby (Wg Cdr)
- 2001 United Kingdom force Operation RESINATE (North), Incirlik, Turkey (Gp Capt)
- 2005 Station Commander RAF Akrotiri / Commander of the Western SBA, Cyprus (Gp Capt)
- 2006 AOC 83 Expeditionary Air Group, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar (Air Cdre)
- 2007 Station Commander / Officer Commanding No 125 Expeditionary Air Wing / Air Officer Scotland RAF Leuchars (Air Cdre)
- 2009 Head of International Policy and Planning (Military)
Bairsto was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 New Year Honours.[2]
